Certified Police Officer
The Town of Gorham, NH is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Certified Police Officer position.
Position Summary: The Gorham Police Department is accepting applications from certified law enforcement officers. This is a sworn, full-time position responsible for maintaining public safety, enforcing laws, and providing community-oriented policing services in the Town of Gorham.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Patrol assigned areas by vehicle and on foot. • Respond to calls for service. • Investigate crime and traffic accidents. • Enforce motor vehicle and criminal laws. • Prepare detailed reports and testify in court. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief of Police.
Minimum Qualifications: • Must be a certified police officer in the State of New Hampshire. • Must possess a valid New Hampshire driver’s license. • Excellent communication and decision-making skills. • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Water & Sewer Department Laborer
The Town of Gorham Water & Sewer Department is accepting applications for the position of Laborer. Duties shall consist of truck driver, water and sewer line installations, meter reader, general maintenance, assisting water and wastewater plant operators, some heavy equipment operation, and all other tasks assigned. Knowledge in heavy equipment operation is desirable. Must be able to lift 100-pound materials.
Applicants must have a minimum Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Class A being preferred or able to obtain a Class A within one year. Applicants must also have a minimum State of New Hampshire Grade I Water Treatment and Distribution License or the ability to obtain one within 1 year.

Water & Sewer Department Assistant Chief Operator-WWTP
The Town of Gorham Water & Sewer Department is accepting applications for the full-time position of Assistant Chief Operator at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Assistant Chief Operator works under the direction of the Chief Operator to perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks related to wastewater treatment and sewer collection system operations. This position is responsible for duties associated with the daily operation of a 0.75 MGD wastewater treatment facility and performs a wide range of tasks necessary to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient plant performance.
The Assistant Chief Operator may be assigned any combination of operational, maintenance, laboratory, or field tasks and is expected to support the Chief Operator in all aspects of plant and collection system operations. A full list of responsibilities can be provided upon request.
Applicants must hold and maintain a Grade II New Hampshire Wastewater Operator License. Must hold and maintain a Grade I New Hampshire Water Treatment and Distribution License, and obtain any higher grade required by NHDES. Preferred candidate would hold and maintain a valid New Hampshire Class B Commercial Driver’s License; Class A preferred. Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, NH Retirement System(Pension), paid vacation, sick leave, and paid holidays. Salary is commensurate with experience and levels of certification and licensure.
